This post is part-time and permanent, working 28 hours per week. 

We have a part time permanent position available for an Academic Engagement and Development Manager for Teaching. We are looking for an excellent manager and a motivated individual who is passionate about innovating our approaches to teaching. The appointed candidate will be a strong leader who is solution led and will be interested in taking an active role to innovate the team and the wider library and academic skills profession. 

This is an exciting time for the team, with the opportunity to develop services and approaches and expand the teams reach and impact within the University. The post holder will work in a busy team of Librarians, Learning Developers, and Liaison Assistants within the library and archive services. The role involves overseeing the teaching function for the Academic Engagement and Learning Development Team, with management responsibility for both Academic Engagement Librarians and Learning Developers. The appointed candidate will work closely with the two other managers in the team who oversee accessibility and resources to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive service is offered.

We welcome candidates from a range of backgrounds with management experience and a strong understanding of teaching practice or managing teaching practice from any sector. 

The Academic Engagement and Learning Development team is currently working in a hybrid fashion. The role will have the flexibility to work at home some of the time dependent on the needs of the service. 

Working patterns and days are flexible and negotiable and will be discussed at interview. We also welcome applications for job shares or for reduced hours than currently offered in this post. The post should start as soon as possible dependent on the commitments of the selected candidate.
