Lecturer in Psychology (with Business Specialisms)

This post is fixed-term for 12 months. 

Psychology is based at the heart of the West End in Central London in the School of Social Sciences, which is situated in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. It comprises 45 academic staff and researchers, 2 technicians, 2 administrators, and a diverse, multicultural student population.  The Psychology unit hosts BPS accredited undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as the MSc Business Psychology, which is accredited by the Association for Business Psychology (ABP). Psychology has a cohesive, supportive and inclusive staff team and fosters a dynamic interaction between teaching and research. The staff and student population is diverse, and there are excellent research and development opportunities. Research areas span the full breath of psychology including psychobiology and health psychology, cognitive neuroscience, social and business psychology. We have a wide range of technical resources including EEG, EMG and TMS facilities, eye tracking systems, E-Prime, CANTAB cognitive assessment software, a qualitative research laboratory, a number of research cubicles and a sound attenuated research laboratory.
 
The post holder will provide expertise in psychology (with business specialisms) and will also contribute to qualitative and quantitative research methods teaching and project supervision, teaching within a variety of settings from small tutorial groups to large lectures. A serious commitment to enhancing student experience is essential. One of the main focus will be on teaching and supervising on MSc Business Psychology. The post holder is also expected to teach on other undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and engage in research and other scholarly activities where the quality of the outputs can be recognised in REF2021.
 
The post holder will hold a BPS accredited psychology degree (or equivalent), a post-graduate degree or professional qualification. A PhD, or an equivalent (or close to completion) is desirable. You will have gained this equivalent level of knowledge through broad experience, having built on a sound understanding of concepts and principles, through exposure to complex practices and precedents, within either industry, consultancy or private practice. Experience of teaching different subjects within Psychology in general and Business Psychology in particular is desirable.
