Clinic Administrator and Receptionist

The School of Life Sciences seeks to employ a Clinic Administrator and Receptionist to support the teaching in and management of the Polyclinic, the teaching and research clinic for complementary medicine and health sciences in the University. The post holder will work as part of the Clinical Services Team of six people, within the Technical Services Department. 

The main duties and responsibilities of the role are to provide reception services and administrative support for students, staff and external users of the Polyclinic. This is a key post within the Polyclinic as the Receptionist is the first point of contact for all patients and potential patients. Duties will include the day-to-day use and maintenance of specialist clinic appointment software, case filing systems compliant with GDPR and management of cash and card payments. 

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, a calm and empathic manner and ability to deal sensitively with patients who are ill, some of whom may be anxious or concerned. You will have the initiative to work independently and prioritise numerous and sometimes conflicting tasks as a lone worker. Experience of reception work, working in a clinical environment including awareness of GDPR and an understanding of complementary medicine is required. 

This post is part-time five days per week, 28.75 hours (0.82 FTE). On Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday working hours will be 1.30pm to 6.30pm. On Wednesday, working hours will be 8.45am to 6.30pm.
