You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of academics, researchers and technologists in a Lab that comprises both fabrication and extensive digital capabilities, including robotics, CNC machining, digital modelling and simulation, digital capture and virtual and augmented reality technologies, as well as materials and environmental testing labs. The Fabrication Lab offers diverse, cutting-edge facilities dedicated to teaching, research and innovation in architecture and the built environment, as well as an excellent working environment for the Lab staff.

You will be responsible for assisting with the development of the Lab’s digital systems and software, maintenance of the Lab and its equipment; instructing and training students and staff in the safe and proper use of the facilities; and facilitating and over-seeing Lab-Users’ development of their digital work.

Your role will include supporting the Lab’s research projects, enterprise activities, and the installation of exhibitions and events. You will be encouraged to develop new skills while working in the Lab and to assist with the expansion and innovation of the processes and techniques offered to Lab Users.

Candidates must have a “can-do-attitude” to the work as well as good inter-personal skills, both in the context of working within a diverse inter-disciplinary team and running training courses for students, staff and professional Lab-Users. You will be required to work flexible hours at key times.
