This post is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week.

At the University of Westminster, our purpose is to help our students be their very best. We provide a safe and inclusive environment to enable our students and colleagues to flourish and grow. We live by our values of compassion, ethnics and responsibility. And we have a rich and diverse community and a London spirit that provides a dynamic and welcoming place to study and work.

That’s why we are determined to continue to attract thousands of students from around the world. So, we think of ourselves as an emerging youth brand – to connect and resonate with our customers and become sector leaders in market leading campaigns. And we know excellent brands require skill, strategy and the ability to produce content which stands out. That’s why at the University of Westminster we are on a new mission.

If you are motivated by the opportunity to shape our future brand and marketing strategy; if you’re in a strategic role, where your insightful and strategic mind has led to new evidence-based ideas, approaches, solutions and delivered results, we would like to hear from you.

We are looking for a truly talented and inspired Head of Strategic Marketing (Deputy Director) to join our Marketing, Communications and Development Function. This is a new and senior role and reflects our mission to create impactful, evidence driven communications. You will be heading up a team of experts to drive our brand and marketing strategy and devise our sector leading campaigns while working alongside key stakeholders in the University to identify challenges and solutions. You will have the gravitas and experience to influence and lead this crucial area.

You will have full accountability, together with the Director and working closely with the Senior Management Team across the function, for creating and implementing a marketing and brand strategy for the University and guaranteeing this will be delivered successfully both externally to prospect students and stakeholders and internally to key stakeholders to ensure confidence and buy-in.

We have an acute customer focus; be they students, our colleagues or stakeholders, donors and alumni so you will need to be someone who has the ability to develop an insightful customer understanding of prospects and communities internally and externally, getting under the skin of what they need and how our University can help them reach their true potential and provide them with real and sustainable opportunity.

You will need proven skills in strategic planning and implementation to ensure the development and roll-out of appropriate propositions, aligned to Our Being Westminster Business Strategy, reflects and attracts students to apply as well as evolving our brand proposition and values. You will set the bar high for insight driven campaigns ensuring the messaging and the media resonates with and reaches our prospect students and potential partners and aligns with the University's brand and values to meet all targets.

You will also be instrumental in designing and delivering marketing strategies at a School/College level, working with your team of marketing experts, to drive engagement and attract new students and partners to generate leads to our CRM system and to our enquiries line.

We know our expectations are high, as are our expectations to deliver sector first and ground-breaking marketing and communications for our University.
