This post is full time, 35 hours per week and is permanent. 

The School of Computer Science and Engineering is seeking to recruit an adaptable and enthusiastic individual to join our experienced team of academic staff as a full time Lecturer. You must be sufficiently generally proficient in major programming languages and have a good understanding of software development principles and be able to adapt to teaching from level 3 to level 7. 

The appointee will join an innovative team of academic staff who deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The teaching will be in the area of Computer Science and Creative Computing at undergraduate and postgraduate level.  

Candidates will be expected to have subject expertise related to web development and in particular front-end development. A track record of significant web application development and good knowledge of industry standards obtained either through related research or industrial experience being highly desirable. 
Good knowledge of full stack development, frameworks and tools is also desirable.  

Duties will include teaching face-to-face and online, setting assessment, marking and giving feedback, supervision of final year and post-graduate projects, and acting as a personal tutor to provide pastoral support to students. As part of the games course, you will be expected to support students for game competitions and opportunities for game enterprise.

Furthermore, you will also be expected to contribute to School strategic subject based, professional or pedagogic research and development, and other scholarly activities in order to support your teaching. Staff are also encouraged to develop their external research profile and the appointee to this post will be expected to contribute to one or more of the School’s multidisciplinary Research Groups.
