This post is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week.
 
The Postholder will work as a Technician delivering a range of customer-focused technical services within the Radio and Audio Production team and across the Design, Creative and Digital Industries College (DCDI), School of Media and Communication and School of Arts. The Postholder will provide support to Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses and the core activities of the College/ Schools and its users.

The post requires a Technician with Radio production and sound engineering experience, knowledge of analogue and digital radio/sound systems, mixing desks and recording hardware, DAW’s. The role requires the delivery of instructional hardware and software workshops. Knowledge of production sound applications for Radio is essential while that of Film, TV, Music or digital media is desirable.
 
The post holder is required to support and assist students in their practical course work. The post holder will participate in and support the range of public performances and activities courses and the University. The successful candidate will be required to provide a high-quality technical service to colleagues, students and external clients/users, as well as ensure that the Radio facilities are properly maintained and available when required and maintain a room booking facility. Knowledge and experience of implementing health and safety compliance, risk assessments in radio and sound production environments are required. 

The successful candidate will be required to have excellent organisation, IT and communication skills; be able to work both under direction and independently; have experience of working within interdisciplinary media production teams; be able to build and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety or staff and students; and possess current skills in media production relevant to the role, with established and developing skills in online media.
