This post is part time, we are offering two roles with flexible hours to meet departmental requirements. Role 1 (0.6 FTE) is 3 days per week (21 hours), while Role 2 (0.8 FTE) is 4 days per week (28 hours). Both roles are fixed term for 7 months. Both positions require flexibility, including evenings and weekends.

The College of Design, Creative and Digital Industries (DCDI) at the University of Westminster is seeking two Graduate Technicians to support students and staff within our Fashion facilities at the Harrow Campus (HA1 3TP). These positions offer a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates to gain professional experience in a higher education environment while building key technical and professional skills. Your primary responsibility will be supervising and supporting students working independently in the Fashion departments, ensuring a safe and productive working environment. Additionally, you will assist with workshops, resource bookings, and equipment maintenance. Although the roles focus on the Fashion area, you will have the chance to engage with other technical spaces across the college, broadening your skills and experience.

In these roles, you will provide hands-on technical support to students and staff in Fashion workshops, assist with workshop inductions and the safe use of equipment, and contribute to the maintenance of equipment and resource management systems. The work will directly support the University’s strategic objectives, helping students achieve their creative and technical aspirations.

We are looking for recent graduates with a background in Fashion or a related creative discipline, who are proactive, and skilled in supporting students’ creative projects. Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills, along with IT literacy (particularly in Microsoft Office), are essential. A commitment to safe working practices and an interest in developing new skills across creative disciplines is also required. This is an excellent opportunity to develop hands-on experience, enhance your employability, and work with a diverse range of staff and students in a higher education setting.
