This post is full time, 35 hours per week and is permanent.

We are seeking to appoint a Technician, skilled in Digital Fabrication and Design, to provide customer-focused technical support within our 3D fabrication workshops, and supporting the core activities of the colleagues and students of the Westminster School of Media and Communications and the Westminster School of Arts. 
The role provides a laser cutting, 3D printing and CNC machining service to our students, and as well as ‘hands on’ technical support, the postholder will maintain a booking and induction system for users.  You will also support the academic delivery of courses using traditional and contemporary methods/techniques of fabrication and modelmaking,  to assist students in their practical course work, and to assist academic and technical colleagues in ensuring that the fabrication and finishing equipment/facilities are maintained and that safe working practices and compliance with HSE and COSHH regulations are implemented and maintained.

The successful applicant will have demonstrable knowledge and expertise in laser cutting, 3D printing, CNC machining, digital and traditional fabrication and model making. Operational knowledge of Rhino, Blender, and the Adobe Creative Suite are essential. A background in a fabrication workshop with an emphasis on integration and application of digitally aided fabrication would be desirable.
