This post is full time, 35 hours per week and is fixed term until 26th July 2025. It is not suitable for a job-share and will require attendance on campus most days.  

The Research Associate will join a small team that organises a pioneering programme for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s Chevening South Asia Journalism Fellowship. This brings together high-flying, mid-career journalists from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka for a seven-week programme on the theme: “Good Governance in a Changing World: the media, politics and society”. The Research Associate will work with the two course directors (Professors Jean Seaton and Rosie Thomas) to research the content of the programme and matters arising from this. The candidate must have a good understanding of South Asian culture, excellent administrative skills and the capacity to relate to academic research, as well as to political, media and cultural institutions and practitioners.
