This post is full time, 35 hours per week and is fixed term until 30 September 2024.

The research associate will be part of a research project funded by the British Academy which aims to develop a digital technology resilience (DigiRES) framework for future pandemics based on the lessons learned from how citizens in the G7 countries interacted with digital technologies deployed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The project is being carried out in the G7, or the International Group of Seven, consisting of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom and the United States. The project will directly benefit the governments of the G7 countries by providing a framework to support the citizens in building resilience through effective utilisation of digital technologies in future pandemics.


The research associate will mainly assist the research team in conducting a literature review and collecting/analysing qualitative and quantitative data. The research associate will also assist in writing reports and research papers. As the post is part of a research project funded by the British Academy, the appointment would be on the first point on the salary scale.

The successful candidate should have a degree, good knowledge of mixed-methods research and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. 

We are open to hybrid mode working, but the postholder will be expected to attend meetings on campus when required.
