This post is part-time, 21 hours per week and fixed term for 18 months. The salary stated above is the pro-rata amount, the full time salary would be £31,740 - £34,581 per annum (Incl. LWA).

Please note that this post is set up as an opportunity for graduates of the University of Westminster only. It will be offered on a fixed term basis for 18 months (until 18 December 2026). This will be an exciting opportunity to learn more about working in an administrative function and to gain experience for future employment opportunities.

You will be part of the Business Operations Department which sits within Student & Academic Services (SAS). We are responsible for financial budgeting and forecasting, recruitment processes, executive level support for the Director of SAS and Senior Leadership Team, SAS events, the management of the Student Ambassador Programme and other ad hoc projects. We also look after the spaces and office supplies for colleagues across SAS.  

You will work closely with the Business Operations Officer to support the effective management of the department with a key focus on enquiries, events, administrative and financial support.  

Key responsibilities include: 
  • Enquiries – acting as the first point of contact for the Business Operations Department including overseeing shared inboxes and providing administrative support with excellent customer service.  
  • Events Coordination - support with event planning including document preparation, room booking, planning catering and liaising with external guests. You will also support the organisation of SAS participation in recruitment events for new students. 
  • Financial and Operational Support – responsibility for raising purchase orders and requisitions, processing payments and organising the purchase of office supplies and sundry items across SAS. 
You will be a recent graduate of the University of Westminster and have experience of working in administrative support with a good level of organisational and problem-solving skills, great attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise a heavy workload. You will possess strong communication and inter-personal skills, working effectively in the team while creating positive working relationships across the University.  You will have excellent digital skills and the ability to work with tact and discretion. 
 
This role is part time 21 hours per week with an expectation to work shorter hours across four or five days per week. The department adheres to the Westminster Smart Working principles and the role holder will be working hybrid with an expectation of two to three days on campus per week. There is also a requirement to work three to four Saturdays per year to support with recruitment events and University open days. The Business Operations Department have a flexible, supportive and collaborative approach to ensure everyone can bring their true self to work and thrive in an exciting area of work for the institution. 
 
The Business Operations Department works mainly from our Marylebone Campus but there is a requirement to work across all campuses according to business needs.
