Lecturer in Biochemistry

This is a full-time, permanent post for a biochemist with an interest in structural biology and/or outreach programmes, the successful candidate will join a Department with a wide reputation for teaching and research in the heart of London within the Faculty of Science and Technology. The Department hosts a suite of well- established undergraduate (BSc) and postgraduate (Masters) courses for both full-time and part-time students.

The appointee will be expected to join an energetic and innovative team of academic staff who deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The majority of teaching will be in the area of biochemistry and biological chemistry at undergraduate and postgraduate level, although teaching more general subjects especially cell biology will be expected. You will also supervise student projects at undergraduate and master’s level.

Staffs are also encouraged to develop their external research profile and the appointee to this post will be expected to contribute to one or more of the Faculty of Science and Technology’s multidisciplinary Research Groups that include Applied Biotechnology, Cell Communication and Westminster Water Science.
