This post is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week.
We are looking to appoint a talented and self-motivated individual to join the Business Systems Operations (BSO) team as a Systems Analyst. 

ISS uses a number of key enterprise applications including Tribal SITS (Student Records), CMIS (Timetabling), SAP (HR & Payroll), Agresso (Finance), Exlibris (Library) and others. The University makes full use of the vendor provided software both as client and web tools and uses the data sources to drive other university systems. 

The successful candidate will be required to support, maintain and expand existing systems with a particular, but not exclusive, focusing on our Library Services and Library Service driven applications and able to demonstrate a proven track record working and developing with SQL and generic web-skills (CSS, JS, HTML, etc) against enterprise applications.

The duties of the role will include the following: 

  1. The Systems Analyst will work in collaboration with other members of the team to support and manage our wide range of critical applications and enterprise technologies with accordance to the ITIL framework, and ensure the smooth day to day operations of multiple systems for the business users. 
  2. The Systems Analyst will work in collaboration with other members of the team to manage incident, problems and service requests efficiently and ensure SLA’s are met, whilst managing change requests, technical project support and play a role in the continual improvement of the systems. 
  3. The Systems Analyst will work in collaboration with other members of the team to ensure  daily, weekly and monthly tasks are performed in line with the Standard Operating Model, ensuring continuity of service through proactive monitoring and event management.
  4. The Systems Analyst must be proactive, adaptive and have good communication and inter-personal skills to work collaboratively with the team, the business users and the external vendors.
  5. As the university moves forward to cloud-based services and DevOps ideology, this is an exciting opportunity for someone prepared to enhance and learn new technologies and make a real contribution to a new team.
