Lecturer in Finance

The Department hosts four postgraduate Masters’ courses: MSc in Finance and Accounting, MSc in Global Finance, MSc in Investment and Risk Finance and an MSc in Finance, Banking and Insurance. We offer popular undergraduate degrees in BSc Accounting and BSc Finance.

In line with a continuing programme of expansion, the Department requires a Lecturer with expertise in Finance Markets, Risk and Investment Management, together with a strong teaching and research record in these areas. The successful candidate is expected to be capable of academic leadership and to demonstrate both task-focused and team process abilities.  

You will contribute to areas such as: Mathematics for Finance, Financial Markets and Institutional Investment, Financial Modelling and Statistics, Risk Management and International Finance, Corporate Finance, Banking Risk and Operations, Fixed Income Analysis and Trading, Modern Portfolio Management and other general areas of Finance. Experience of computational methods in finance and Bloomberg in a teaching environment will be desirable.The post holder will also contribute to the planning, design and development of courses, modules and assessment methods. Participants are expected to be excellent team players supporting the needs of the department and taking on leadership responsibilities as appropriate for the level of this post. 

You will have a PhD or appropriate relevant work experience in the profession and/or industry, supported by evidence, which demonstrates you are a recognised expert with an authoritative understanding of your specialised field or discipline. You will have gained this knowledge through very broad and extensive experience, having built on a sound understanding of concepts and principles, through your wide and significant exposure to complex practices and precedents, within either industry, consultancy or private practice.
