This post is full time and permanent, working 35 hours per week
The team currently work 4 days a week on site with 1 day allotted for activities where individuals would be able to work from home. This is where it is operationally viable.
Digital & Technical Services are offering an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Senior Network Engineer within our Infrastructure Data Telecoms team. The post holder will take a leading role in the successful, design, development and implementation of the University’s Network, Wireless and Telecommunications systems.
They will support the effective and efficient operational delivery of these services and ensure they are developed, implemented, and maintained in accordance with best practice and approved standards to support the University’s strategic objectives and digital transformation agenda.
Your Profile:
A proactive, positive attitude with the ability to take ownership and responsibility to deliver on agreed strategic objectives.
Experience of supporting, developing, monitoring and maintaining physical Network infrastructure, Wired and wireless Networks, Circuits, Switches, Routers, Datacentres, Firewalls, DDI, Load balancers, Monitoring & VoIP.
Experience of working successfully with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating and leading activities on large cross team development and refurbishment projects.
Experience of working in an ITIL based environment with change and incident management and delivering effectively against Service Level agreements.
The ability to communicate views and explain technical concepts to a wide audience, working effectively in a team, setting a good example and providing coaching and guidance.
