We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior PR and Public Affairs Officer to join our busy Corporate Communications and Public Affairs Team.
The aim of this role is to raise the profile and enhance the reputation of the University of Westminster through policy and media engagement.
You will work closely with many teams from across the University, including our academics, promoting their new research, our students and our alumni as well as many other partners and stakeholders in and out of the University.
You will be a key member of the small and busy PR and PA Team assisting with the dissemination and monitoring of all our PR and PA projects, including campaigns to promote and disseminate research outcomes, supporting our student recruitment campaigns and enhancing the reputation of the University in its key priority areas.
You will raise public awareness of the University, developing relationships with relevant political stakeholders and generating positive media coverage through a variety of ways including creating news items for our website, responding to incoming media enquiries, identifying where our academic experts might comment on the news agenda, sharing engagement opportunities such as governmental calls for evidence, promoting our public event series, and running policy-focused events.
This multi-faceted role needs someone proactive and imaginative, who can translate research findings into policy recommendations and engaging news items, develop creative pitches and engagement ideas and build their own media and policy network.

With exceptional interpersonal, organisational and prioritisation skills, you can work to tight deadlines, managing multiple requests, while keeping the quality of your work your priority. Attention to detail and the ability to build rapport with our stakeholders at all levels are also key to this role.
You will be working with a professional, dynamic and supportive team with a busy workload in a vibrant and progressive university.
